Stayed at VILLA DE LOS MANGOS
December 2019
We had 4 couples and 3 infants enjoy this incredible home. Noe and Ari (the caretakers) were the highlights of our stay, cooking us 5 of the most delicious Mexican feasts for us during our stay. The meals were incredibly thought out and cooked with great intention. The home was palatial and served our every needs, from pool to fully equipped kitchen, this place is paradise. 10/10 would recommend to anyone :)

“This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and we absolutely love it! The place is new and modern with all the amenities you can think of. Ari and Noe come each day to tidy up and make sure we had everything we need. They are also available to prepare home cooked meals which is better than any local restaurant! Tim is such a great host, he welcomed us with 2 bottles of wine and a friendly smile. Villa de los Mangos is the place to stay when visiting La Saladita!”
Review #30066313 FIVE STARS House was as advertised. Staff was excellent. Waves were fabulous. Only improvement would be a diagram of the light switches for the house. That was a puzzle. Will definitely be backDate of arrival - February 8, 2020

Here’s what Sophie wrote “Beautiful home full of homely touches & great art! The pool is divine as well as the surrounding gardens ! Great location & good sunset spot with a margarita on the top floor!!! Would love to stay again!”
Sophie and her lovely family were our last guests in this time of the Coronavirus. They left from England approximately 3 weeks ago just prior to serious international travel concerns. Theirs was a highly successful stay! For the interested wordsmith the British definition of homely is a description of a place or surroundings that are simple but cozy and comfortable, as in one's own home.
alex rWed, Sep 16 – Sat, Sep 26, 2020Vrbo 5/5Fantastic Surf WorkcationVilla Mangos is a great property - Our small group of 4 "older" surfers thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's a short walk (~10 mins) to the main break which is perfect for long boarders of all ability levels. The house has a great kitchen, outdoor bar and pool for cooling off. The owner (Tim) is super helpful and very communicative & friendly. The internet is top notch and we successfully "worked" via Zoom calls all over the world. The only challenge was 1-2x short power outages (due to storms) & Tim says he is adding a generator to address. The caretakers (Noe/Ari) were also sensational and prepared several delicious meals (small extra fee). We loved our stay - a great place for a workcation, relaxation and enjoying Playa Saladita. Highly recommended.09/30/2020 at 4:10 PM
“Villa de los Mangos is a dream getaway for surfers of all abilities, or anyone who simply loves Pacific Mexico. It provides easy access to world-class surf, from the long rolling lefts of Saladita (10 min walk, 2 min drive) suitable for intermediates, to cooking reef breaks ready to be explored. Amid a neighborhood of stately homes, the Villa provides security, serenity, and spacious grounds. It is even more colorful and more beautiful than shown in the VRBO photos. Chefs Ari & Noe take pride in local ingredients, recipes, and seasonal specialties, making every meal a treat. If you speak a little Spanish, you can learn a lot about Guerrero cuisine. Also, they know everyone in Llanos from taxi drivers to surf guides to tire repairmen to local doctors, and can solve any problem. As a side benefit, owner Tim is a fixture at Saladita, so mention his name and you will have friends within an hour. This place is a gem. John Hill, California.”

"Spent 10 wonderful days at Villa Los Mangos and enjoyed a great surfing holiday in the sun. The house is beautiful and distinctive, spacious and well-appointed with all we needed. The waves at Saladita were a 5 min walk or 2-minute drive, giving us easy access while preserving for ourselves the peace and quiet of the great little section of the beach where the house is located. Owner Tim was great and helped us out with our many questions and making sure we had all we needed. His fellow caretakers, Noe and Ari, took great care of us and helped us get anything we needed, from medical care in Zihuatanejo, a rental car rescue and some memorable home cooked meals prepared in style. I hope to return soon. Geoff from Manhattan Beach, CA."

“Where to start..... Wow. We just spent 18 days at Villa de Los Mangos. From the beginning Tim was incredibly helpful, and flexible regarding our travel plans. We were both working remotely and our kids were in virtual school. Tim bought a generator to make sure we would not lose internet in case of a power outage. The internet was perfect the entire time, even with four computers, ipads and phones online. This area of Mexico is rural- and that is what makes Playa Saladitas so charming. The road is 2 miles from a small village where we shopped to get our groceries. We said we really did not need the rental car but we did a few day trips (40mins) into Zihuatanejo which made the car rental worth it. We were able to shop for everything we needed in the village- groceries, fresh tortillas, roasted chicken, fruits and veggies...etc. The ocean was beautiful. We swam and surfed the point break (10min walk to the point) everyday. We ate at many small restaurants along the beach but kept coming back to our favorite "illianet" literally a 2 min walk down the beach from Villa de Los Mangos. The point break is a perfect longboard wave- and excellent for beginners- the kids (ages 14 and 17) and myself surfed easily and without intimidation. People in the water were very friendly and it was nice to see mexicans surfing alongside. There are two surf schools at the point offering ample longboard rentals. There is bigger surf on the outside which my husband enjoyed. A few mornings he hired a boat to bigger breaks about 20 mins away. There are lots of options. The House! Wow. It is a work of art. Tim used local artists to help design and build his home. It is beautiful and a true Mexican experience. It was spacious and incredibly well designed. We were only 4 people but the Villa could easily fit more. The two main bedrooms have AC. The loft has a really fantastic spiral staircase with a queen , 2 single beds and a couple floor mattresses to hang out on- the spiral staircase continues up to a third floor palapa. The palapa has amazing breezes in the afternoon and it is perfect for morning yoga. The lighting up there is lovely in the evening and it has a 360 view offering ocean sunsets to mountain sunrises. It is also amazing to watch thunderstorms roll in! There are a lot of crazy lights all over the house---and it was really fun to decide what kind of lightening we wanted each night! The master bedroom has a private bath and a very comfortable king size bed with lots of space for storage. Tim even gave us room on the surfboard rack to store our boards in the garage. Both bathrooms are beautiful. There is ample hot water and Tim supplies soap/shampoo. The kitchen is perfect and has everything you need. We cooked about half our meals and there were lots of spices/oil/coffee for our use. There is a full size fridge as well as a full size freezer in the pantry (Tim has a few drawers) but overall there is a vast amount of space. They supply all the drinking water which is a HUGE benefit of staying here. Ari and Noe- I don't know where to begin with this incredible couple. They are so caring, compassionate and kind. They come each day to clean, take care of the property and basically do whatever you need. They can buy groceries, give advice on where to go, cook, do laundry, etc.. We really enjoyed getting to know them. Three to four nights a week we had them cook for us and the dinners were all outstanding. I am mostly vegetarian (GF), my daughter is allergic to seafood, and my son and husband pretty much like everything. They cooked without blinking an eye to these complications. The food was fresh, local, and each dinner they made a fresh juice from scratch. I will truly miss these meals- it was so nice to chat and relax as they cleaned up! They can cook any meal you'd like not just dinner- breakfasts were as equally amazing. Ari can cook using your groceries or she can buy everything for you. Meals were very affordable and the food was tastier than eating out The grounds were beautiful- fresh fruit trees (depending on season) mangos and limes. We loved the pool and the palapa with the hammock. We often ate out on the patio. The lighting was beautiful at night. The path to the public beach access was just across the street. Despite what people say of Mexico, this area was very safe. We had computers, phones, other devices, cash in the house, etc.. and it was fine. We did not ever feel harassed or bothered on the beach either, the locals were kind, helpful, and friendly. This part of Mexico is a true gem and we will absolutely come back. Villa de Los Mangos was an incredible experience and a much needed break from our chaotic lives. Although Mexico does have an increase in COVID cases, there were not any in this area, it is small, remote, not densely populated or high in tourist turnover. We felt safe going out, we wore masks in town but not on the beach. With open air eating and tables well spaced apart it was not necessary. Thank you Tim, Noe and Ari for a wonderful stay, our experience would not have been the same without you all. We will be back!”

5/5Stellar Review!!!My name is Erik, this is at least our third stay at Villa Mangos: The house: the house is more than big enough to accommodate our family of four. It is clean, very well equipped with all necessities including an awesome washer and dryer. The kitchen is amazing and has everything needed to prepare meals. The living space is centrally located, very comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. The bottom floor bedrooms are spacious and visually pleasing. The air conditioners are very efficient. The outside and surrounding property area are beautiful; many trees and palms. The pool is amazing. Its always clean and just the right temp. The owner/property managers: Tim is an amazing communicator and a fantastic person. He always makes our stay here unforgettable. Ari/Noe, the caretakers will do just that, they take awesome care of the house and will make sure everything is up to speed. We always had bottled water on hand. Summary: I have booked for next year and hope to do so for many more. Muchos Thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! E01/03/2021 at 2:45 PM

“We had a wonderful time at Villa de los Mangos. We can not wait to return. The proximity to the ocean was great, just a short walk to the point. The pool was perfect for relaxing after a morning of surfing. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking in and the meals that Felipa made for us were delicious. Felipa and Deigo were helpful and a great addition to a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this house and look forward to our return. Hasta Luego”

“What can I say that hasn’t been said?? Tim, our host was a pleasure to talk with, surf with, and rent an Airbnb from! Communication was quick and informative from day 1 of booking to the day we left. Felipa and Diego kept the beautiful property spotless and we had a few excellent meals there. We wish we had had more meals made by Felipa! Our one regret. The location is fantastic and blissfully peaceful. Loved the short walk every morning and evening from the house to the break and was so nice to be away from the restaurants on the beach. We throughly enjoyed the pool and hammocks when not surfing and the sunset from the rooftop is incredible for evening cocktails. It was our first time in Saladita and I wouldn’t come back unless I was able to book villa de Los mangos again!” Jennifer’s private feedback for you: “Thanks so much Tim! You know how much we enjoyed the place! Far exceeded our expectations. No real suggestions for improvement... :)”Jennifer, New York, NYJoined in 2013

“The house is absolutely immaculate, and extremely well designed and furnished. It is even better and more beautiful than in the photos. The owner and property manager are incredible hosts as well, and can recommend great places to eat and go. The housekeeping staff was amazing, and kept the place really clean and perfect - felt like a hotel. Felipa is also an incredible cook, so be sure to have her make you some meals while you are there. The best part was being just off the beach where it was cooler, and you really felt like you had a private sanctuary to relax and reset after a long surf session. Walk to the beach was maybe 5 minutes and so easy! We had such a beautiful stay and can’t wait to come back again!”
