If you like to surf, this is the place to go. The house is well laid out, with two bedrooms downstairs and one upstairs. AC works well in both downstairs bedrooms. Kitchen is well stocked with pans, dishes, staple food items (spices, oil, etc.). The hammock outside is a great place to relax and cool off. The pool is large and our kids loved it. The location is somewhat rural. The house is almost at the end of a little road by the water. There are a few other beach houses in the area, but there's only a few cars that pass by every few hours. If you walk to the beach (very short walk), you can then walk to some of the restaurants that line the beach. It is not a busy place, which means it's easy to ride a wave without being in someone's way. There are some surf board rental shops and folks who give lessons. Bring water shoes if you want to spend time in the water -- there are plenty of rocks and it's just a much more comfortable experience with something on your feet. It's a good idea to stock up on groceries at the Mega in Zihua before heading to the house. There's not a ton of shopping in the immediate area. The house has a large freezer and refrigerator, so it's fine to buy enough food for a week or two. This is a great place to spend a week or two if you want a quiet place to enjoy some tropical weather. I was able to work remotely very easily (internet is great), kids were able to play in the pool or go to the beach, and my wife was able to surf, so it made for a great trip for all. We used Tonii to drive us back and forth when necessary, rather than renting a car. The roads were navigable, but there are some dicey dirt roads on the last stretch that need care to drive through, especially if it's just rained. We made it through in Jetta, so 4x4 isn't necessary, but if you aren't 100% comfortable driving on dirt roads in Mexico, you may want to opt for something with higher clearance than a regular sedan. Lastly, Felipa and Diego take care of the house and grounds and make sure the place is in good order. The house was cleaned daily, the pool was cleaned daily, and both were always happy to help however we needed.

5/5 STARS WONDERFUL BEACH GETAWAY
Villa de los Mangos was the perfect spot for our small group of friends (two couples). We loved the care and attention that Tim has put into creating a comfortable and thoughtfully composed home, including the art, the comfy beds, and the beautiful roof deck and outdoor spaces. The house is an easy walk to the surf break and located in a quieter part of town. The internet is shockingly fast--we were all able to get work done over the course of our stay without any issues. Felipa cooked us delicious meals at our request (highly recommend her plantains, rice, beans, and pico de gallo). And, last but not least, Tim was a warm and welcoming host who really made us feel at home--already hoping we can return soon!

Tara Rynne (Stayed 7/20 to 7/27/21) Villa de Los Mangoes is spectacular! From the moment we booked, owner and host Tim was incredibly welcoming and helpful answering questions and providing tips and information to ensure we had a great stay. He even scouted board rentals for us to help us decide if our kids should bring their shortboards (rental longboards are plentiful and we did bring 2 shortboards). The house is beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. It has the feel of being at a stylish, intimate, private boutique hotel featuring amazing artwork, incredibly lighting inside the house and on the expansive, private grounds, comfortable bedding, nice bathrooms, and thoughtful details throughout. My family of 5 - kids aged 15, 12, and 10 - were on a surf trip with a large group and each day we looked forward to returning to the peaceful, secluded oasis that Tim has created at Villa de Los Mangoes. The house has everything you need: WiFi, frig/freezer, coffee/maker, microwave, everything you need in the kitchen including oil and spices, beach towels, washer/dryer, bottled water, many fans, and AC in the bedrooms. Felipa and Diego keep the grounds and house immaculate. Felipa is available to prepare meals and help with laundry if needed - her ceviche is a must! Diego helped us open oysters we bought on the beach from a fisherman who just came in, and he brought us mangoes from the grounds. The lighting outside on veranda and in the pool made nighttime dips under the stars, listening to the waves and watching distant lighting a daily highlight. We had fun watching nighttime storms over the ocean from the upstairs lookout. Each day we would wake up to sunshine, and we enjoyed awesome waves, the warm water, beach walks and searching for beach glass, smoothies and drinks at Sergio’s, and reading and relaxing in the hammock by the pool. - We had an unforgettable stay at Tim's casa. The staff were amazing, the location was perfect and Tim was an attentive host that helped us to organise anything and everything we needed. After travelling Mexico for a month this was the comfort and privacy the whole family were craving. The waves were amazing too! Highly recommend this place. I know we will be back.

📷Casa Mango is a beautiful house that is fun and with all the amenities that made it very comfortable. The rooms were big with comfortable beds, living area had plenty of space and the pool was a perfect place to relax after a long day of surfing. It has easy access to the beach and restaurants and the host Tim is great and very helpful! We'll definitely be back!!!

We felt like we had a private beach when we walked to the beach located just next to the house. The surf break is 10 minutes down the beach it’s an easy walk. The loft is not good for young kids more for teenagers (we were told this by tim before booking). We all fit fine on the first floor. Felipa was amazingly nice and so helpful with keeping house clean and cooking any meals we needed. We had a great trip! We will be back again.

Owner Tim is the perfect host, responding quickly to your every question and need. Beautiful Playa Saladita is just a short walk away and you can hear the call and lull of the waves as you swing gently in the hammock in the beautiful, secluded garden, float in the serene pool, or drift off to sleep in the the comfy beds. Oh, and the kitchen has everything you need, plenty of bottled water, and the opportunity for a special meal cooked by some of the beautiful locals. We had an amazing lobster dinner! Tim and his wonderful crew made us feel right at home and kept us well cared for from beginning to end. The property grounds are immaculate and within short walking distance from the beach and phenomenal surfing. The home was stunning and the perfect space for my husband and I and our two close friends (one stayed in the second bedroom, another in the spacious loft). We could have easily fit more guests. Villa de los Mangos served as a quiet and tranquil retreat for us. Other friends staying beachside appreciated visiting our space as a break from the volume and relentlessness of the crashing surf. We look forward to visiting Tim and Villa de los Mangos again for future adventures!

Tim was a great host and the property is beautifully kept. We highly recommend Villa De Los Mangos. We thoroughly enjoyed our four full day stay. It's not oceanfront so you can save some bucks over beachfront locations, and it's very private, just slightly off the more crowded area down by the point. Communication before and during our stay was top notch. Tim gave us all kinds of tips and suggestions for food prep, shopping, car rental, and spa services. He can connect you up. You can pick and choose what you want and you pay directly for the services. (not thru Tim) The property is very spacious with healthy grass and mango trees around the house and pool area. We spent a ton of time in the pool. It was clean and in perfect condition. We also spent a lot of time on the rooftop deck. The rooftop is completely shaded with ocean views through the palm trees along the beach. The sunsets from the roof were stunning. There's a full time groundskeeper (Diego) who keeps everything clean and tidy. The location is great. It's located one house off the beach with a public access walkway right outside the front gate. The location is just north of the surf break and does require a short 7 minute walk to the paddle out spot. We really liked the location because it was private but not too far away from the surf, board rentals, and restaurants. There's a nice front gate securing the property and a tall hedge by the pool for more privacy and afternoon shade. There's a carport to park your car away from the sun's heat with plenty of room to pull gear in and out of the car. Diego's partner Felipa does the cleaning. You can also arrange to have her cook your meals. (We had her cook for a couple days) Her cooking is authentic and very tasty. The house is absolutely stunning. Two nice size bedrooms and an upstairs loft that sleeps three comfortably. The house easily accommodates seven people but you could get a couple more in if needed. The house has everything you need for an extended stay. Purified water, washer/dryer and full size kitchen with gas stove. One day we asked Tim if he had any beach chairs. He said he had some at one point but they were falling apart so he tossed them in the trash. THE NEXT DAY! - Tim's groundskeeper came by with two brand new beach chairs. You can tell the whole Villa De Los Mangos team really cares about their guests. Per our request, Tim arranged to have groceries purchased for us before our late arrival. We ended up driving from the airport at sunset and arrived after dark. It was nice to wake up to freshly cooked breakfast (we arranged ahead of time) and a full stock of food for the week. If you arrive in Zihuatanejo during the day we suggest you hit the larger supermarkets for your food on your way to Tim's place. The small town around Tim's place does have groceries but they are very small markets. We did pick up six nice size fresh snapper from a local fisherman named Benny (Benny's restaurant) down by the pangas. It was like $5 per snapper. The drive is easy and Tim did an excellent job with directions prior to our arrival. We also arranged to have massages at the house. The masseuse brings the table and all the oils. We suggest you have a bluetooth music player if you want relaxing spa music during your massage. The $40 one hour massage was so good we had them come back the next day. We highly recommend the rental car agency Tim recommended. Johnny Cash rentals. Johnny met us at the airport to deliver a Chevy Suburban. No BS between the price quoted and what we paid. It was a daily charge that included insurance. Johnny was awesome and he's walkable from the airport. Tim's place has a great vibe and we can't wait to come back next year. Thanks Tim! 5/5 STARS - Peaceful Paradise It’s hard to even summarize our experience, but I’ll try… The property is stunning! Quiet, and tropical, with an incredible pool and outdoor lounging area (we all took turns napping in the hammock.) The rooftop deck is the perfect spot to watch the sun rise and set. The home has everything you’ll need to feel right at home. Cookware, beach towels, and more. The decor is cozy and authentic - the art and treasures have been lovingly curated and it enriches the vibe of the home for sure. And last but certainly not least, Tim is incredibly responsive and will do what he can to make sure you’re well looked after. Diego and Felipa take such beautiful care of the home and grounds, and Felipa cooked for us 3 nights which was a huge blessing. Honestly, apart from walking the beach and surfing, it was very hard to leave the property! It’s a special place indeed and we can’t wait to return. 4/24/2022 at 1:40 PM

Ali W Sat, May 7 – Sat, May 14, 2022 VRBO 5/5 STARS Week of Pure Bliss Staying at Mangos was an incredible experience. I have rented many houses in La Saladita and this is one of the best! The communication before, during and after the stay was quick and easy. The house is impeccable. The welcome we got from Tim was heartwarming. The dinners and service we got from Felipa was first rate. Diego kept the grounds immaculate. The house instantly makes you feel like you are “at home” in Mexico. Even though the property isn’t directly on the beach, you are on the beach through the public access in less than 2 minutes and at at surf break in less than 10. We will never forget the true Mexican hospitality we received from everyone at Villa de los Mangos and we will certainly stay there again in the future.
